Youth and Children's Work

A ten session distance-learning course introducing the basic principles and practices of youth and children's work. Ideal for anyone who is new to youth and children's work in the local church and more experienced workers who want to stop and think through the biblical principles that undergird their weekly work.

The syllabus includes:

  • Theology of Youth and Children's Work
  • Children and the Kingdom of God
  • The Place of Children and Young People in the Local Church
  • The Nature of Biblical Truth
  • Bible Handling
  • Communication Skills
  • The Youth and Children's Leader
  • Strategy for 0-18s
  • Pastoral Care and Parents
  • Teamwork and Leadership

The course contains optional assessments. Those students who successfully complete these assignments will receive an Open Bible Institute Certificate in Youth and Children's Work.

Fees: this course costs just £30

Any students wishing to take the youth and children's work module in the Cert HE in Biblical Studies and Ministry course are advised to contact the office for a preliminary discussion before enrolling on any short course.
