Christian Mission and Ministry
What is the Christian life all about? What is church? What is mission? How do I go about serving God? If you are asking question like these, then the Christian Mission and Ministry correspondence course may be for you. This 10-session course is ideal for anyone dipping a toe into church leadership, be that small group leadership, youth group leadership or sitting on the church council. The course is also suitable for anyone wishing to serve God with a truly biblical understanding of what it means to serve.
The syllabus includes:
- The Gospel - its nature and implications
- The characteristics of Christian living
- The concept of sin and Christian maturity
- The place of Christian experience
- The nature of the Church
- The church as a missionary community
- Church planting
- The principles and practicalities of evangelism
- The relationship between social involvement and evangelism
- An introduction to pastoral care and communication skills
Students who successfully complete the optional assignments in this course are awarded an Open Bible Institute Certificate in Christian Mission and Ministry.
Fees: this course costs just £30
Any students wishing to take the Cert HE in Biblical Studies and Ministry course are advised not to take the Christian Mission and Ministry short course as a stand alone course. This is because the material forms the basis of a compulsory module within the Cert HE.
